𝐂𝐃𝐅 𝐓𝐎 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐔𝐏 𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃

The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) continues to transform lives and improve infrastructure in Serenje District, with the opening up of Kabansa Road in Muchinga Constituency standing out as a major milestone in enhancing connectivity and service delivery for rural communities.

Using the CDF road component, works have commenced on the Kabansa Road, located approximately 52 kilometres from Serenje, linking Chief Serenje’s area to Kabansa and surrounding communities.

The road, which was previously in a deplorable state and largely impassable, is now being opened up to improve mobility, trade, and access to essential services.

Serenje Town Council’s Quantity Surveyor Mr. Lombe Chitalu and Civil Engineer Eng. Mathews Mwanta confirmed that the project, valued at K1 million, includes the hiring of heavy earth-moving equipment and extensive road formation works.

They noted that construction has been ongoing for the past two months, with steady progress being recorded on the ground.

Once completed, the Kabansa Road is expected to significantly ease movement for residents, enabling improved access to health facilities, schools, markets, and agricultural inputs, while also enhancing the transportation of farm produce from Kabansa to trading centres.

Beyond road infrastructure, CDF investments are also yielding positive results in the education sector across Serenje District.

Chipala Primary School has received 70 desks, creating a more conducive learning environment and ensuring that pupils no longer sit on the floor during lessons.

Similarly, Chief Serenje Primary School has benefited from multiple CDF interventions, including the installation of a water scheme with a storage tank, the construction of a well-furnished ablution block, and the procurement of 343 desks to adequately meet learner needs.
