SERENJE (19th May, 2025) โ In order to accelerate decentralised development, Serenje District has today successful held its orientation and validation meeting for the draft Constituency Development Fund (CDF) guidelines, attracting enthusiastic participation from Councillors, CDF Committees, Ward Development Committees, and key stakeholders from Muchinga and Serenje Central constituencies.
The gathering, convened at Villa Banandi Lodge, was hailed as a landmark moment in the districtโs journey toward transparent, inclusive, and people-led development. The meeting sought to align stakeholder understanding on the revised CDF Act No. 1 of 2024 and its expanded operational guidelines, which are poised to strengthen local development efforts across all 21 wards in the district.
Delivering his opening address, Serenje Deputy Council Chairperson and Mbaswa Ward Councillor Mr. Dauglous Free Johns Sigauke emphasized the significance of the orientation, describing it as a crucial step in Zambiaโs broader decentralisation agenda.
